Why do we require an application?

Our application process is in response to two of the most common questions our Riders have prior to booking a trip with us:

1) Am I skilled/fit enough to participate in this Ride?
2) Will the other people on my Ride be skilled/fit enough?

Ensuring that you - and the other Riders on your Ride - are a good fit for the Ride selected is of paramount importance to us. We want to help you pick the Ride that's perfect for you, and ensure that everyone booked on a Ride is on the right Ride for them. That's why we want to know a bit more about you - your mountain biking history, where you ride, how often, etc... - before we take your money.

We review every application and if, based on your responses, we think you're a good fit, we'll approve your application and you'll receive a link to place a deposit. If we think you might not be a good fit (either too skilled or not skilled enough for the Ride you chose), then we'll give you a call to discuss your preferences in greater detail.

Please note: our application process isn't about excluding anyone, or making anyone feel like they're not 'good enough' to participate in one of our Rides. It's about ensuring that you end up on the right Ride for you, with people of similar skill, fitness and riding preferences. In the end this ends up being a much better experience for everyone.

With wide-open views of the Colorado mountains and lots of wildlife for the majority of this ride, we combine rolling terrain with smooth flowy riding, and the option of adding some rockier trails if you're feeling up to the challenge!

We'll start pedaling along some mellow smooth singletrack that rolls along with a couple short climbs to get the cardio system pumping. Lots of options on this trail after get going, including additional smooth singletrack with some doubetrack if that's desried, or head over to the rockier side of these trails with a solid climb and super-fun descent. Most of this ride is exposed (thus the amazing views!) so water and suncreen are a must.  The mellow trails coast through wide-open plains southeast of Boulder where you'll see mule deer, coyote, prairie dogs and maybe even bald eagles, depending on the time of year, all against the backdrop of the Flatirons. As we travel over to the rockier side, you'll see the beauty of the Eastern Plains mesh with the ecosystem of the foothills, and likely encounter a few friendly Colorado cows on the trails for a great photo op! Then we'll enter the foothills forrest for a solid climb and screaming descent!  We depart from and ride in beautiful Boulder, CO.

IS THIS RIDE FOR YOU?

If you're a beginner looking to gain some more technical experience or a skilled MTB expert, this ride has something for you. This ride has lots of flexibility - staying on smooth flowy singletrack for a couple of hours, or extending to the rockier side of the trails for another 1.5-3 hours. You're comfortable and confident riding semi-rocky climbs and descents up to 10 minutes long each. In town for the day and don’t have time to find the best routes? Want to sneak away from your business trip for a half day ride? Or want to take the whole family on a fantastic bike outing? We leave from a central Boulder meeting point, at a trail head or we can come to your hotel with bikes and gear. We’ll quickly get you on a ride to match your interest & skill level… and we make it fun!
