Why do we require an application?

Our application process is in response to two of the most common questions our Riders have prior to booking a trip with us:

1) Am I skilled/fit enough to participate in this Ride?
2) Will the other people on my Ride be skilled/fit enough?

Ensuring that you - and the other Riders on your Ride - are a good fit for the Ride selected is of paramount importance to us. We want to help you pick the Ride that's perfect for you, and ensure that everyone booked on a Ride is on the right Ride for them. That's why we want to know a bit more about you - your mountain biking history, where you ride, how often, etc... - before we take your money.

We review every application and if, based on your responses, we think you're a good fit, we'll approve your application and you'll receive a link to place a deposit. If we think you might not be a good fit (either too skilled or not skilled enough for the Ride you chose), then we'll give you a call to discuss your preferences in greater detail.

Please note: our application process isn't about excluding anyone, or making anyone feel like they're not 'good enough' to participate in one of our Rides. It's about ensuring that you end up on the right Ride for you, with people of similar skill, fitness and riding preferences. In the end this ends up being a much better experience for everyone.

Pedaling up and down beautiful dirt roads and smooth singletrack with views that you won't believe!

If you're a fit rider but are not a super-skilled mt biker, this ride is for you - enjoy amazing mountain biking in Colorado without having to be a 'shredder'!  This ride allows you to open it up and get a great workout - fast dirt roads and smooth singletrack, rolling climbs, and a few grunter climbs that will burn more calories than you can shake a stick at! All with incredible views of our local Colorado landscape and the massive Rocky Mountains beyond.  We'll start with some gentle rolling dirt roads to warm up those legs. We'll continue on fireroads with a ribbon of singletrack beside it that you can jump on and off if you  chose - a perfect blend of rolling terrain where you can go 'all out' and get that heart rate up!  The we can hit the bigger climbs - up to fiveclimbs of  20-45 minutes each - on gorgeous dirt roads with incredible views. You can chose how many of the climbs we ride  depending on your 'Suffer Factor'! We depart from and ride in beautiful Boulder, CO.

IS THIS RIDE FOR YOU?

A great ride for the fitness buff who doesn't quite have a high level of mtb skills. You are comfortable riding dirt roads and relatively easy singletrack for 2 hours minimum, with some steep climbs thrown in (20-30 minutes each). In town for the day and don’t have time to find the best routes? Want to sneak away from your business trip for a half day ride? Or want to take the whole family on a fantastic bike outing? We leave from a central Boulder meeting point, at a trail head or we can come to your hotel with bikes and gear. We’ll quickly get you on a ride to match your interest & skill level… and we make it fun!

• We’ll pedal out to the trailhead along the beautiful foothills of Boulder, heading towards the mesa for a nice easy warmup on mellow fireroads. We’ll pass one of the reservoirs from our Reservoir Ride, then head out the singletrack that brings us to our first climb: a steep one, but non-technical! A fun descent drops us down to pavement for our second climb (on pavement) that has some amazing views of the more-rural parts of Boulder. Another fast descent brings us to our third climb up through a wooded fireroad where we’ll see turkeys and deer! We can take 2 different directions here, both leading to our last climb which has become the favorite of the Boulder cycling community, with one of the best descents Boulder has to offer!
